Where the number comes from
Most value tools give you a book figure derived from the original list price, with no adjustment for condition, mileage or options. This one searches for vehicles like yours that are actually for sale right now, discards the ones that are not really comparable, and shows you what it used. Asking prices sit above sale prices, so treat the range as where the market starts, not where it ends.
What it covers
Utility and sport quads alike — Sportsman, Foreman, Rancher, Grizzly, Outlander, Raptor and the rest. ATVs are adjusted for engine hours rather than miles, because that is what the hour meter records and what a buyer asks about first. Youth quads are covered too, though they trade in a much narrower band.
How to work out a value yourself
- Search current listings for your year, make and model, and keep the class straight — a utility quad and a sport quad of the same age are different markets with different buyers. Collect five to ten and note hours and location.
- Check a book value as an anchor. Kelley Blue Book and J.D. Power / NADA both list ATVs. Treat either as a national average derived from the original list price — useful as a sanity check, blind to your hours and your condition.
- Adjust for hours and wear. Hours matter more than age on a quad that has been serviced. Look honestly at the CV boots, the bearings, a bent rim, and whether the plastics are cracked or just faded. A winch and a plow set carry real value on a utility quad. Rust around the frame and a title problem are the two things that cost the most.
